Well they say that there is a first time for everything and nothing could be closer to the truth over the past few months. 9 Months ago I decided to take a 12 month career break to embark on some challenging but exciting projects. Having followed the ‘normal’ career path of school…university… job, I found myself feeling it was time for a change and do something for me, be brave and maybe do something outside of my comfort zone.
So here I am 3 months into my career break about to embark on 9 months of travel around the world missing things like those 12 episode long dramas that you get hooked on and bubble gum TV (you know the ones). However I am about to see what the world has to offer and at times I am sure my resilience will be tested to the max.
So what have I done in the 3 months leading up to this I hear you ask? Well here is a little run down:
-Constructing and re building a kit car that I own with my Dad ready for a friend’s wedding (Congratulations Steve and Pippa)
-Volunteering for an arts and heritage charity in Stratford upon Avon (Escape Arts)
-Writing a kids story cook book which is to be illustrated whilst I am away
-Edinburgh fringe with friends (Amazing)
-Acting in a 2 week re run of the incredible play These Shining Lives with an exceptional cast at the Pleasance Theatre london (5 stars reviews)
As the events of last year and the play have taught me…’Make every second count…’ Life is short so make the most of it… and that is what I intend to do. Who knows what the future holds.
